Position: Civils Operative (SMT)

Contract: Fixed Term to cover maternity leave (until end of May 2026)

Salary Band: £24,000 - £25,000 (depending on experience)

Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week plus overtime

We are looking for a dedicated and hands-on Civils Operative to help build and maintain our award-winning fibre network.

What you’ll do: What you’ll do:

• Install ducting, chambers and associated equipment across varied terrains

• Lay concrete plinths and install cabinets for our fibre network

• Help with fibre optic cabling, splicing and network remedial works

• Service and maintain existing infrastructure to keep communities connected

• Work from network designs, ensuring installations meet agreed plans

• Participate in an on-call rota to support out 24/7 service commitments.

What you’ll need:

• A full, valid driving licence

• A commitment to gain your NRSWA Streetworks Operative licence (fully funded by B4RN)

• Practical skills and willingness to work outdoors in all weather

• Commitment to quality, safety and teamwork.
