B4RN were presented with some golden duct (and a big cake!) by our supplier Emtelle, who’ve now made 5,000,000 metres of it for us!

Our Frank (“The Blow”), Will, Chris and Barry were at Melling HQ to receive it.

Emtelle have been working with B4RN from the very beginning, providing all sizes and lengths of their familiar, usually orange ducting.

Thanks to Simon Wade and his team for bringing a ducting themed cake for the occasion, made by Storm in a Teacup cakes in Hawick, where Emtelle are based.

Speaking of the milestone, Barry Forde, CEO at B4RN, said: “It has been a pleasure to work with Emtelle over the past 9 years, it goes without saying that their solutions are of the highest quality. From supplying 5 million metres of duct to providing on-going technical support, this strong relationship has allowed us to seamlessly connect thousands of homes and businesses across rural parts of Lancashire, Cumbria and Yorkshire as well as in Northumberland, Cheshire and Norfolk. We look forward to ramping up our network deployments to bring more outstanding broadband to more rural communities.”

Simon Wade, Sales Manager at Emtelle, added: “We are honoured to be in partnership with B4RN, through sheer determination, they have not only brought a fit-for-purpose internet connection to rural homes, they’ve built a network that would be envied by most city dwellers. Thank you to the B4RN team for the custom- here’s to the next 5 million metres and our ongoing prosperous relationship.”

And in case you were wondering, 5,000,000 metres will get you just shy of Bermuda. It is also half way around the moon.
