Enterprise Investment Scheme – Update 16th January

January 16th, 2019

Further to HMRC’s most recent communication regarding the Enterprise investment Scheme, we hope  to have a definitive answer by the end of this month.

While we wait for their decision, we confirm that all investments made from the end of March 2018 will attract 5% interest from day 1 or they will get the EIS tax relief up front and then the 5% from year 4 as before, depending on HMRC’s decision.

5% is still a very good rate of return on an investment in today’s financial climate and should be attractive to the vast majority of investors. Investors shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that the objective of B4RN is to build an FTTH network for the community, not to be a high yielding investment. Without investment from the community, the network cannot be completed.
