Current Issues
Network Outage: Thursday the 23rd of April 1:55p.m. - We are aware of an issue affecting customers in the Grayrigg, Nether Kellet, Old Hutton, Over Kellet, Silverdale, Storth, Witherslack, Yealand Conyers and Yealand Redmayne areas. Engineers are investigating. Update 2p.m. Service restored for all areas with the exception of Grayrigg. Engineers are working to restore service to Grayrigg. Update 2:20p.m. We are aware of a fibre break affecting Grayrigg. We have activated a secondary link so that Grayrigg connections outside the break area are now live. Engineers are investigating the fibre break that is affecting the remaining customers. Update 2:40pm: Engineers have located the damage to B4RN fibre and are working to plan a repair. The damage is currently affecting the service to 32 customers, who have been notified. Update 3:00pm: Engineers are en route to the location of the damage to begin repairs. Update 5:00pm: Engineers have replaced the damaged cable and are continuing work to repair the remaining connections that are down.
Distribution Network Status
Planned Maintenance: Thursday the 16th of April 2:30a.m. to 5:00a.m. - B4RN Voice Services: This maintenance is being undertaken by our voice provider's engineering team to perform planned upgrades and optimisation work across core infrastructure supporting the B4RN Voice platform. The outage is not expected to cover the whole period.
Planned Maintenance: Tuesday the 28th of April 9:00am to 2:00pm - 3 customers in Burneside: These works are to repair damaged fibre serving these customers. This outage will cover the whole period and you will be unable to connect to the internet or use your IP phones.
Network Maintenance Windows: We normally use Tuesdays and Thursdays – 01:00 to 08:00 – as a maintenance window to perform network operations such as router firmware upgrades, equipment replacement, security updates, minor cable replacements, and other small works with low impact. Occasionally we may plan maintenance at other times for operational reasons. Any major works will be identified above and customers affected will be notified in advance.
