B4RN is delighted to be nominated for the Internet Hero Award at this year’s ISPA Awards!
A massive ‘thank you’ to everyone who nominated B4RN and good luck to our fellow nominees:
– the Digital Poverty Alliance
– Starlink
– Marcus Hughes, from the Better Internet Dashboard
All the nominees champion digital inclusion and/or are helping with the gigabit-capable broadband rollout. ISPA crowd-sourced recommendations from the public via social media and canvassed its members to come up with a list worthy nominees.
B4RN’s Chief Operating Officer, Tom Rigg, said: “We are humbled to have been nominated by the people for the ISPA Internet Hero award, and subsequently we have made the shortlist! It is ten years since we secured this very award as our communities began their journey in deploying Fibre to the Home infrastructure in deep rural parts of England. Their combined dedication and determination laid the foundations on which we thrive today, connecting more than 12,000 premises with Full Fibre Broadband.”
As Tom says, B4RN previously claimed the title of ‘Internet Hero’ back in 2012, when the judges stated B4RN was “an example for others to follow”.
Of this year’s shortlist, ISPA Chair, Steve Leighton commented: “The annual ISPA awards celebrates the great and the good in the ISP sector over the past twelve months. The Internet Hero category is a great opportunity to celebrate those who have contributed to our sector in the past year, whilst also reflecting on some of the serious issues we have faced. I am delighted to congratulate all the organisations shortlisted for this year’s Internet Hero award.”
The winner will be announced in London on November 24th, where B4RN is also up for ‘Best Rural ISP‘!
