Director Chris Carr is a Yorkshire man by birth and studied law at Oxford. He was Principal of St. Martin’s College in Lancaster for 10 years and the first Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cumbria before retiring in 2009. He is a Deputy Lieutenant of Lancashire.
Chris and Hilary have lived in Aughton for the last 27 years and recognised the significance of B4RN for small and isolated communities from the onset. They championed the drive to bring B4RN to the village, and Chris joined the Management Committee of B4RN early in 2015, before being appointed as a Director in 2016. He remains active in the village community where he lives and has retained his involvement with education as a Member of the Bay Learning Trust, a multi-academy trust based in North Lancashire.
