B4RN Survey and Competition
Please tell us how having B4RN has helped you during ‘lockdown’

We are always being asked why people in rural areas need broadband and why should we get help from the Governemnt to get it. We are also being asked ‘Why has our rural community got their spades out, and planned, designed, and built the network’ in the amazing way you all have. So we we wanted to ask you about YOUR Story. How has the B4RN broadband service and fibre to the home (FTTH) helped you, your family or your business cope during this difficult time?

It is a question the media, academics and researchers are keen for us to answer. We have already had many, many messages saying thankyou. What we really need are your personal stories, experiences about how having a B4RN connection has been vital for all during isolation. How has this helped, what new things have you done, who else have you helped and who has helped you?

What are we going to do with this information?
We will use it on our website and our social media channels. We may also pass this information on to researchers, including Oxford University. This can be annonymous if you prefer. We have compiled a simple survey, 20 quick questions, takes around 5 minutes to complete, that’s all. At the end of the survey you can add your story and enter the competition. Your story can be a simple paragraph and a photo or drawing by the children.
We know that having great internet during lockdown has really helped so many people.

For a chance to win an AMAZON ALEXA (prize kindly donated by the Computer Club)
Send us a picture which sums up your response to being in lockdown. Your staff or your family members (we encourage children to have a go!) can all enter: send in photos, record a video or draw a picture . Together with the answers you have given us in the survey we can turn this into a case study. The story can be about your home, community or business. (This can still remain anonymous if you have indicated this at the start of the survey).

You can submit videos to us using wetransfer.com, this service is free and you don’t need to sign up for an account. Please check you are happy with their privacy statement https://wetransfer.com/legal/privacy before sending a link. (If you need help transferring files such as video please contact us for help and support). You can also put videos on youtube, vimeo, dropbox, tictok etc and send us a link. Photographs or photos of artwork can simply be emailed. Please send them to pr@b4rn.org.uk

People who submit videos or pictures for their stories will be entered into a prize draw with one lucky winner receiving an Amazon Alexa smart speaker.
