The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport have announced their new Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme in March this year, it is part of the Local Full Fibre Networks Programme which is a Government fund set up to help locally led projects across the UK leverage local and commercial investment in full fibre, which is the “gold standard” for fast and reliable broadband.
That may be a little confusing to those that have not heard of this fund and its associated voucher schemes before, in short the Government have recognised the need for full fibre gigabit capable connectivity in the UK and the latest voucher scheme has been aimed at helping small and medium-sized enterprises, along with the local communities surrounding them, gain access to gigabit broadband by providing grants towards the installation cost of getting fibre to your door.
B4RN have been working with DCMS and the GBVS team, and we are now registered as a supplier on the latest scheme within our coverage areas. Please take the time to read about the GBVS scheme via the links above. We have taken the time to write a document on how it could be used within our coverage area, and so if you are, or know an SME who is not currently connected to B4RN and would like to be, please take the time to read the documentation below and get in touch via the details within.
