Happy New Year to all who read this. A few days off for the B4RN community, sadly the bad weather did not have any time off over Christmas! Now it is back to it as this new video shows.

One of the priority tasks for the team now is to connect up the individual properties to the fibre core. This is done by using the specialised fusion splicing equipment that B4RN owns. Very meticulous work and a bit fiddly, especially with cold fingers and a gale blowing but as you can see, the job is getting done.

Fusing, the video:

As always, this work would not be possible without the many committed volunteers that give up their free time to help. Many thanks to you all. Thanks also to to the other splicers who are too shy to be filmed 😉

Thanks to Lonsdale Net (Craig) for coming to help splice and explaining how it all worked to new volunteers. Some will now be going on to full training in the future months. Its all coming together very nicely. Slowly but surely we are getting there.

Thanks also once more to Lee, who brought Ian with him this time. He obviously wasn’t put off by being kidnapped last time he was here.

Thanks to tent shifters and charwallahs.

Stories from out in the field from our very happy customers

One residential customer in Over Kellet used to know whether it was worth firing up her computer by looking out of her front window to see what the weather was doing with her telephone line.

OMG it is amazing! I don’t want to go back to London, which was faster than here, but not now! Just to say a BIG THANK YOU to all you guys, what a great thing you are doing. I’m shocked not everyone is signing up!
