“Twas on a Monday morning…”

Many people have offered to help us in exchange for shares in B4RN. One of these was Lee, from Core Precision. He came to visit us on Monday and because it was fine weather for a change we ‘kidnapped’ him and he did some fusion for us. A man of grit.

He had no wellies, so we put a fibre mat down (notice the brand name on the mat and you’ll see the fibre pun), but it wasn’t very effective as you can see from the video! His wife Shalini posted on Facebook that he trailed our mud all through her lovely house… oops. She also said he really enjoyed his day, working in the countryside, waving at the farmers and helping a community.

The day went really well and we learnt a lot about the preparation needed to do the work. The actual fusion doesn’t take long, its getting all the tiny fibres clean and in the right position that takes the time. Many thanks to Lee and all the volunteers.

Other fusion splicers are racing to get all the joints and customers spliced on before the big switch on in Arkholme.  We will try to get photos/videos of them too, but its all happening in their available spare time and we don’t always know when they are working. Our admiration goes to all those working tirelessly on this project.

If any fibre cereal company would like to supply a better mat… please contact us.

If anyone would like to sponsor a splice chamber (the bullet) please use the donate button at the side of the page and we can put your name on it for £50 or a logo from your company and film it for posterity.

Power to the People.

Stories from out in the field from our very happy customers

One residential customer in Over Kellet used to know whether it was worth firing up her computer by looking out of her front window to see what the weather was doing with her telephone line.

OMG it is amazing! I don’t want to go back to London, which was faster than here, but not now! Just to say a BIG THANK YOU to all you guys, what a great thing you are doing. I’m shocked not everyone is signing up!

After lambing 1300 ewes a good film is what I want to watch and because we have B4RN that is no problem. Just enables me and my family to get on.
