As has been stated previously core route duct laying has been continuing across the B4RN area despite any sign of good weather. So while the poor weather has hampered deployment it has not halted it.

August 1st saw the start of the deployment of fibre into the ducts that will connect the first properties to the B4RN network. Network equipment has been installed in Telecity, Manchester and connection to the Geo Fibre back bone will be done in the next week or so.

B4RN now has all the equipment needed to deploy core route including the specialised fibre blowing and fusion splicing equipment. Fibre company Emtelle came to assist with the first install. Here are a few pictures taken throughout the day.

In addition to the fibre being blown through the duct, new ducting is also being laid along with some more sponsors. many thanks to the people that have sponsored the project so far, you are now part of the B4RN network. The photos of the ducts and sponsors can be seen below. Anyone wanting to sponsor B4RN can still do so by following this link.

Stories from out in the field from our very happy customers

One residential customer in Over Kellet used to know whether it was worth firing up her computer by looking out of her front window to see what the weather was doing with her telephone line.
