Update 09 Oct 2012: It was announced last night that B4RN had won the award for “Innovative Funding”. This is great news and recognition for the community and the unique way it has and is continuing to fund itself. Well done to everyone involved in the project.

It’s been a hectic time for the B4RN community lately with lots of work going on digging the core route despite the horrid weather. There have been some great pictures posted on out Facebook page which can be seen herehere and hot off the press here. Even hotter, today’s photos here. Quite inspirational seeing the community taking things into their own hands quite literally.

Some more good news received this week is that B4RN has been shortlisted as a finalist for the NextGen Challenge 2012 awards to be held at the Church House Conference Centre, Dean’s Yard, London on the 8th of October 2012.

This is great news to be listed as a finalist. As followers of the project will know the project has has not public finding whatsoever and hence funds have had to be raised in different ways such as share offers, (still open for anyone interested), and our Sponsor a Metre imitative which has proved very popular.

Fingers crossed for the 8th of October!

Stories from out in the field from our very happy customers

One residential customer in Over Kellet used to know whether it was worth firing up her computer by looking out of her front window to see what the weather was doing with her telephone line.
